Hey Everyone,

This is a quick guide to assembling your pole. Many people have asked me how I manage to put a pole up in my front room and am I able to store it away, well it is very easy and straightforward. I have the 45mm X-Pert pole which I purchased at . Here’s a few pictures (which my niece has photo bombed lol), and the video that helped me put up my pole…

Today is my mum’s birthday so i’ve decided to dedicate this post to her because she is a big influence in my life and my role model. In this circumstance I could say that I’ve played a part in being an influence in her life by participating in pole fitness with her. When I tell most people that my mum also does pole fitness they never believe me at first. So I want to get rid of the stereotype that pole is only for the young and prove that “Yes mum’s can do it too!”.  And Anyone can do it.

I initial started pole before my mum did and I think I can partly say that I encouraged her to join and do it as well as the input from my fantastic pole instructor Gina. We started off in the same class poling side by side. I really enjoyed being in the same class as my mum because we would laugh and joke at each other when doing various moves. As time went on we eventually had to split up and join different classes because of our different abilities.

Even though we were separated we still would share our pole stories with each other and what we’ve been up to in our classes. Since splitting, we have occasionally joined forces again and have had some joint lessons together.

My mum has come a long way in her pole journey and is the perfect example of a “can do” attitude in all that she does.

Happy Birthday Mum <3

This video shows how elegant pole can be. Her movements are fluid and consistent which makes it pleasant to watch. This is also a prime example of how pole isn’t just provocative but creative and artistic.

Men Can Do It Too:
I love love love this video. Not only are they having fun but they are really good at pole. Throughout this video they are doing tricks and free styling making up moves and making moves their own. This shows that it is not just a one sex sport.

My favourite thing about this video is how controlled she is with her moves. She is very precise and makes it look so easy and effortless when moving around the pole.

From a young age I’ve always been very sporty and athletic and was always keen to try and engage in new sports or activities. My favourite sports when growing up were Netball and Trampolining. When I was 15-years-old I started pole and since then I’ve always had a passion and love for it.

So because today is #ThrowbackThursday I’m going to be reminiscing on some old pole pictures and videos from the past and I’m also going to reflect on how I can improve on these moves, which I will be updating you on in the near future.

This was my first attempt of a Hook

Things to perfect…

  • Toes – I need to make sure that my toes are pointed so that the move looks clean and pretty
  • Holding the position – Holding the move steady so I don’t look so wobbly
  • Execution – Being less hesitant and more confident reflects on the move

Now heres a few old pictures for you to enjoy :)

5 Facts About Water…

1. Drinking Water Is Good for Your Joints

One of the least known benefits of drinking water is that it helps keep your joints strong, healthy and lubricated. Your joints need moisture in order to remain strong and flexible, so that your movements are smooth and pain free.

2. Keeps Your Body Hydrated

Drinking water is very important for keeping the body hydrated. This is crucial because the body is made of 60% of water! It is so easy for us to forget to drink enough water, especially in the winter. During the summer we drink more water to cool us down, but when it comes to the winter season we easily forget because we don’t feel hot and dehydrate as much.

Headaches, this is an easy way of realizing that the body it dehydrated, and when a headache does develop drinking a tall glass of water as soon as the pain starts and sipping lots throughout the day should ease the pain.

3. Water Helps Keep Skin Looking Good

For healthy and younger looking skin water is our natural moisturiser! Water helps keep the elasticity in the skin, which helps prevent wrinkles. Another reason why our skin ages quickly is because it is dehydrated, and drinking enough water can help maintain the hydration of the skin. The weather can also make the skin very dehydrated, e.g. windy weather can make the skin very dry and brittle.

4. Water Helps Energize Muscles

Without water the muscles don’t perform as well as they should. They become easily fatigue and tired. Drinking enough water when exercising can prevent the body from becoming dehydrated. During exercise, it is recommend that people should start drinking fluids early, and continue to drink them at regular intervals to replace fluids that are lost because of sweating.

5. Helps with weight loss!

For many years dieters have used water as a tool to lose weight. They used it to supplement sugar drinks and juices. Even though it is not a fat burner it helps to reduces unnecessary calorie intake that drinks and some juices produce.

Hey Everyone,

So I know this may seem like a contradiction from what I’ve previously posted but after all IT IS FRIDAY Y’ALL! Today is officially my ‘SIN’ day and I’ve really pigged out today guys, without even realising or planning to. However in any balanced diet you do need some variety of food, it’s okay to have a rare occasion of junk, no ones diet is perfect (yet!) so I thought I’d share this with you guys… So on today’s menu (which was totally unplanned) there was:

A banana for breakfast…

The World’s Most Bruised Banana

Fish and Chips with peas, with improvised lemon water, for lunch…

And Chinese for Dinner… mmm : )

CHINESE (Minus the chips)

Hey Everyone,

It’s the beginning of the year and I know most people are keen to start a new chapter in their fitness lives by losing excess Christmas weight or even starting a new diet for the new year, either way I’m going to try my best to give as much advice and motivation throughout my blog to help you guys!

Last night I decided to have a healthier dinner. On the menu was… Grilled chicken breast with roasted parsnips, asparagus and avocado. I seasoned my chicken with herbs and spices including thyme and garlic and also did the same with my vegetables. I grilled my chicken on a George Forman Lean, Mean Grilling Machine with no oil! And I lightly oiled my vegetables with olive oil and roasted.

In the evening, without even realising, I discovered a new abs work! Check it out below…
